According to a report from Foot Mercato, Auxerre are interested in signing Mike Trésor (26) from Burnley before the end of the January transfer window. The Ligue 1 club have identified the Belgian attacking midfielder as a player who can help them improve their chances of being relegated from the French top flight.

Trésor has struggled since he signed for the Premier League club. The 26-year-old presented a large outlay for Burnley as they paid €18m for the attacking midfielder’s services from Genk. However, he has failed to produce the goods as far as his pricetag is concerned, failing to score for the club in 26 appearances.

Auxerre hoping Trésor can rediscover his Genk form

Despite his difficulties in the North West of England, the Belgian international has shown he can have a great influence in the final third. If the attacking midfielder can rediscover his Genk form at L’AJA, he could have a huge role to play in their Ligue 1 survival. In his time in the Jupiler Pro League, he scored 9 goals and registered 33 assists in 84 appearances.
