As reported by Foot Mercato, Lyon defender Youssouf Koné is preparing for another loan move away from Parc OL this summer.

The 27-year-old Malian international left-back (17 caps, one goal) joined Lyon from Lille in 2019 for around €10m but failed to make an impact at the club and has instead journeyed through a succession of unsuccessful loan spells around Europe. Koné spent time with Spanish club Elche and Turkish side Hatayspor before again falling out of favour on loan with promoted team Troyes in Ligue 1 last season.

Having returned to OL for pre-season training, the defender is again not part of coach Peter Bosz’s plans but another promoted club, Auxerre, are interested in a loan deal for the player this summer while further interest from Turkey has also come the player’s way. With two years left on his contract at the club, Koné is patiently waiting for the right offer to arrive this off-season.
