Avaí/FME Florianópolis women dominate national ranking race in Brusque

The AVAÍ / FME Florianópolis / APGF women’s cycling team took part this weekend in the traditional Cidade de Brusque cycling tour, held in Brusque, Santa Catarina. The competition, which featured 200 athletes from the South and Southeast regions, counted toward the National and State cycling rankings.

There were three stages: on Saturday morning, an individual time trial was held over a distance of 20 km. Then on Saturday afternoon and Sunday, two circuit races took place, each covering 50 km.

In the elite women’s category, Tamires Radatz delivered yet another outstanding performance and claimed overall victory. She also won the time trial and Sunday’s circuit race. Fabiane Baggio de Meira finished the competition in 5th place overall.

In the junior women’s category, for athletes up to 18 years old, AVAÍ / FME Florianópolis / APGF rider Aghata Iwasenko put in a great performance, winning all three races and also taking the overall title of the tour.

In the youth girls’ category for athletes up to 16 years old, there was another strong showing. Isabely Pieri da Silva took 2nd place and Amanda Baggio de Meira finished in 3rd. The win went to Maria Clara Pessoa, from Joinville, Santa Catarina.

“This was another great result for the team in a high-level competition on the national calendar. Among the team’s many highlights, it is worth emphasizing the excellent performances of Tamires Radatz and Aghata Iwasenko, who are having an outstanding season. All we can do is be grateful for this wonderful team that makes us so proud, with so many significant results on the national sports scene,” said Diones Chinelatto, the team’s technical coordinator and athlete.
