Turkish giants Besiktas are ‘awaiting a response’ from Tottenham Hotspur after they made an offer for Conor Gallagher.
The 26-year-old midfielder drew interest from Aston Villa during the winter transfer window and despite Unai Emery’s side initially being the favourites to land him, it was Spurs who ultimately closed the deal with Atletico Madrid.
Spurs agreed to pay Atletico Madrid a fee of £35m to bring the combative midfielder back to the Premier League.
Last season Gallagher featured 16 times for Spurs in the Premier League, registering one assist and one goal, while Roberto De Zerbi stated that his desire to see Gallagher recreating his Chelsea form for Tottenham.
Tottenham have strengthened their midfield this summer by signing Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United and Mateus Fernandes from West Ham United.

The club will want to bring in cash from a number of player exits, especially as they are set to spend again to bolster the final third.
Now Besiktas are testing the waters and seeing if it is possible to take Gallagher off Tottenham’s hands.
Having last won the Turkish Super Lig title in the 2020/21 season, Besiktas are determined to end their league title drought this season and believe that Gallagher can help them in their goal.
According to Turkish daily Sozcu, the Black Eagles have now put a loan offer to Tottenham for Gallagher.

It is unclear what the terms of the loan are and whether it contains an option or an obligation to buy, but Besiktas are ‘awaiting a response’ from N17.
Letting Gallagher go after just six months could be a surprising move from Tottenham, however the midfielder will want to know he can still clock regular game time under De Zerbi.
Mathys Tel is another player in De Zerbi’s squad being linked with a move outside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with several Italian clubs on his tail.
Napoli are admirers of the 21-year-old’s talents, but it has been suggested that they will need to offload two attackers before they enter the negotiations with Spurs for Tel.
