Away from home, under-20s draw with EC São Bernardo in Paulista

On Monday (21), São Paulo’s Under-20 team drew 0-0 with EC São Bernardo at Estádio do Taboão, in São Bernardo do Campo, in the first leg of the second phase of the Paulista Under-20 Championship.

In the first half, both teams shared possession and created few chances. In the 40th minute, São Paulo had their best opportunity. Igão moved forward to the edge of the box and passed to Lucyan, who returned it to the number 3. The center back then got his shot away, but it was saved by the opposing goalkeeper.

In the second half, Tricolor created more chances. In the 14th minute, after receiving a pass from Lucca, João Costa tried a sliding finish, but the goalkeeper made the save. Three minutes later, Marvin dribbled past two defenders and advanced into the penalty area before passing to João Costa, who shot toward goal, but it was also saved.

The second leg will be played this Friday (25) at 3 p.m. at CFA Laudo Natel, in Cotia. In the event of another draw, the tie will be decided on penalties.

São Paulo finished the first phase of the competition in second place in Group 2. The team earned 33 points in 14 matches, with 10 wins, three draws, and just one defeat. Overall, the team scored 23 goals and conceded only four.
