Away from home, Under-20s lose to Novorizontino in Paulista

The U-20 team was beaten 2-1 by Novorizontino this Tuesday (11) at Dr. Jorge Ismael de Biasi Stadium, in Novo Horizonte (SP), in the Paulista Championship for the category. The Tricolor goal was scored by Renan.

With the result, the team suffered its first defeat in the competition and remained on 21 points, still inside the qualification zone for the next stage.

The first half was evenly matched, with both teams creating chances, but the opponent managed to open the scoring in the 44th minute. Two minutes earlier, São Paulo had found the net through Robert, but the goal was disallowed by the referee.

In the second half, Novorizontino doubled the lead in the 14th minute. São Paulo pressed in search of an equalizer and pulled one back through Renan in the 38th minute, with a header after a cross from Felipe. However, Made In Cotia were unable to find the equalizer.

The team’s next match is scheduled for Sunday (16) against Ibrachina at 3 p.m. at Estádio Prefeito José Liberatti, in Osasco (SP), in the state championship.
