Axel Disasi joins West Ham on loan | OneFootball

West Ham have confirmed the loan signing of France international Axel Disasi from Chelsea for the remainder of the season.

The 27-year-old joins the Hammers without an option or obligation to buy, with a reported loan fee of around £1.8 million.

Disasi, who still has over three years remaining on his Chelsea contract, has been frozen out of the first-team picture at Stamford Bridge this season, having last featured in April. The defender had been a key target for West Ham as Nuno Espírito Santo looks to strengthen his backline amid a relegation battle.

Other clubs showed interest in the 27-year-old throughout January, but the final decision came down to Disasi himself. Talks over personal terms delayed the move, forcing West Ham to submit a deal sheet to give themselves extra time to complete the loan.

Disasi now arrives at the London Stadium to provide experience and leadership in defence as the Hammers fight to retain their Premier League status.
