Lille OSC midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi (18) has opted to switch his national team allegiance. As reported by L’Equipe, the France youth international will now represent Morocco’s senior team. Bouaddi, who is born in France and of Moroccan origin, was Lille’s youngest ever player to start in a Champions League game. That day, he impressed against Real Madrid.

Bouaddi previously featured for France’s U21s side and he is considered one of the most promising prospects in French football. But he won’t feature for Les Bleus. The Moroccan FA is expected to imminently confirm Bouaddi’s national team allegiance switch. The Lille midfielder, who has been monitored by both Arsenal and PSG, could therefore be selected by the Atlas Lions for the 2026 World Cup.
