In a matter of few hours, FC Barcelona will step onto the pitch at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys to take on Getafe on Matchday 7 of La Liga.

Having picked up six wins in six games so far in the competition, the Blaugrana will be gunning for three points again, especially after Real Madrid won their match last night and closed the gap to the top.

Hansi Flick’s men are playing at home after a run of matches on the road and will be aiming to put on a fine display in front of their supporters in Montjuic.

However, Barcelona will go into tonight’s clash without first-choice goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, whose season might be over after the knee injury he suffered against Villarreal on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Dani Olmo, Fermin Lopez, Ronald Araujo, and Andreas Christensen are all unavailable as well. But Ferran Torres is back and available after serving a one-match suspension.

Here’s how Flick could potentially set his Barcelona team up tonight against Getafe in search of his seventh league win of the season.

Defence

Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s absence means Inaki Pena will be making his first start of the season between the sticks for Barcelona.

The La Masia graduate has not always inspired confidence between the sticks but must step up and show that he is ready for the big stage as Barça deal with their captain’s absence.

Meanwhile, there could be a couple of alterations in defence as Eric Garcia could be moved into the centre-back role tonight, allowing Inigo Martinez to get some rest after he has been a permanent fixture in the team.

Pau Cubarsi ought to return to the starting lineup tonight, at the expense of young Sergi Dominguez who started against Villarreal. Alejandro Balde, too, should be back in the side at left-back while Jules Kounde ought to continue on the right flank.

Midfield

Marc Casado was given a breather by Hansi Flick against Villarreal but the young midfielder altered the dynamics of the game after coming on as a substitute. He should be reinstated to the starting XI tonight as part of the double pivot.

Meanwhile, Pedri ought to continue partnering with the La Masia graduate as part of Barcelona’s midfield unit against Getafe.

Pablo Torre was one of the highlights of Barcelona’s 5-1 win over Villarreal over the weekend, scoring and assisting a goal apiece away at Estadio de la Ceramica.

Having made the most of his chance, the youngster, who rejected offers to leave in the summer, should feature from the get-go again.

Attack

The attacking unit is one department where Flick does not appear likely to rotate, considering the spectacular form that his current first-choice forwards are in.

As such, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal should all start again for Barcelona tonight against Getafe, hoping to boost their goal tally for the season and continue climbing in the Pichichi Trophy battle.

Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati will be options from the bench for the manager, along with Pau Victor while youngsters Guille Fernandez and Toni Fernandez will be hoping for their first senior minutes.
