Balieiro and Sousa spark turnaround as Vitória S.C. climb to seventh | OneFootball

Vitória S.C. beat Estrela Amadora 2-1 at Estádio Dom Afonso Henriques on Saturday to rise from ninth to seventh in Liga Portugal.

Paulo Moreira put Estrela ahead in the 10th minute, racing onto Marcus's through ball to finish. Soon after, Rodrigo Abascal departed injured (16.).

After the restart, Renan Ribeiro kept Estrela in front with smart saves, including a strong stop from a Thiago Balieiro header, before the hosts surged.

Balieiro levelled from close range following a corner (64.). Moments later, Diogo Sousa swept in João Mendes's cross for the winner (68.).

A double change at the break, introducing Telmo Arcanjo and Nelson Oliveira, gave the hosts fresh thrust, with Mendes's delivery proving decisive for Sousa.

In the third minute of second half stoppage time, Charles saved from Leandro Antonetti to secure the points.

Vitória S.C. carried the threat with 20 attempts and 54% possession. Estrela Amadora registered six attempts, four on target.
