Manchester City will find out their opponents for the fourth round of this season’s FA Cup after their demolition job on Saturday afternoon.
It was a hugely convincing pathway into the next stage of this season’s competition for Pep Guardiola’s side, who were coached out on the Etihad Stadium surface by Pepijn Lijnders as the Catalan boss was suspended due to an accumulation of yellow cards.
The first period of 45 minutes brought four goals alone, as Max Alleyne and Rodri’s double were added to by a duo of unfortunate own goals for Exeter City – and the second-half would only bring more of the same problems in their own defensive third.
A quick-fire double from Rico Lewis and Antoine Semenyo made it 6-0 before the hour mark, before Tijjani Reijnders, Nico O’Reilly, Ryan McAidoo, and the aforementioned Lewis would make it double figures for the hosts.
There would be some joy for the travelling faithful however, as a stellar effort from George Birch from distance gave James Trafford no chance with a strike that hit the very top corner of the Englishman’s goal to make it 10-1 at the full-time whistle.
Now, as Manchester City and their star-studded prepare to find out their next opponents in domestic football’s greatest cup competition, here are all of the details for the fourth round draw procedure!
The FA Cup fourth round draw will be made on Monday 12 January at Anfield ahead of the last match in the third round between Liverpool and Barnsley.
The fourth round draw will be available to watch on TNT Sports 1, discovery+ and the TNT Sports YouTube channel at approximately 6.35PM GMT.
