The 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony will be held in London, the first time the event has moved from Paris, and will crown the leading male and female players from the 2025-26 season.
L'Équipe reports that the 70th edition of the award, created by France Football in 1956, will take place on Monday 26 October.
The switch to the English capital pays tribute to Stanley Matthews, the inaugural winner, who was at Blackpool 70 years ago. The night will also identify the successors to Ousmane Dembélé and Aitana Bonmati, crowned in 2025.
The Ballon d'Or recognises performances across all club and international competitions in 2025-26. That includes the Champions League and, for the men's award, the World Cup staged this summer in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Winners will be chosen by an international panel of journalists, 100 for the men's vote drawn from the top 100 FIFA-ranked nations, and 50 for the women's drawn from the top 50. The exact London venue has yet to be confirmed.
