Bamba Dieng confirms Lorient exit at contract end

Bamba Dieng will leave Lorient when his contract expires at the end of June, the 26-year-old confirmed on Tuesday.

The Senegal striker said in an Instagram post that it was time to turn an important page in his career, adding that wearing the shirt had been a source of pride and that he wished the club well.

Revived this season under Olivier Pantaloni, the international with 21 caps and two goals scored 15 times in 25 outings, 10 in Ligue 1 and five in the Coupe de France.

Despite logging a little over 1,400 minutes, his contribution helped Lorient finish ninth and has drawn interest from clubs abroad.

Dieng joined Lorient in 2023 from OM.
