Lecce released a statement warning they could take disciplinary action after striker Lameck Banda failed to turn up for pre-season training.
The club noted this afternoon that Banda had been called up to begin activity with coach Eusebio Di Francesco and requested a postponement due to red tape issues.
When he missed another deadline to arrive back in Italy, Lecce lost patience and released the formal statement.

They will now investigate the circumstances that are delaying his return, whether the player could’ve done more to ensure his travel plans were not affected, and can then ‘evaluate necessary disciplinary action.’
Banda is under contract with Lecce until June 2027 and his future is up in the air.
The attacking winger and Zambia international came to Lecce in the summer of 2022 at a cost of €2m plus add-ons from Maccabi Petah Tikva.
He has made 104 Serie A appearances, contributing nine goals and 10 assists.
