Flamengo have made Luiz Henrique their priority this window, but club president Luiz Eduardo Baptista, Bap, has halted talks with Zenit despite a financial outline being reached.

According to Coluna Do Fla, Zenit accepted a package worth 30 million euros fixed plus five million euros in bonuses, and agreed to a three-year payment schedule after discussions with the player’s camp.

Bap did not authorise Flamengo to submit that offer, judging the terms to be beyond the club’s current limits.

Thiago Almada had been the initial plan for this window, but with a River Plate proposal also on his table and his decision pending, Flamengo moved to open talks for Luiz Henrique.

Flamengo are preparing for the Libertadores last 16 against Cruzeiro and must lodge their squad with CONMEBOL by 18:00 Brasília time on Friday seven.

The club are not focused on that registration deadline and would continue their pursuit even if Luiz Henrique cannot feature in the Cruzeiro ties.

Flamengo do not intend to overspend this window, having already invested R$ 431.8 million on Lucas Paquetá, Vitão and Andrew at the start of 2026.
