Flamengo president Luiz Eduardo Baptista said the club paid a January bonus to all employees, rewarding collective effort.

"A few weeks ago we paid a bonus to all of the club's employees, something that had never happened before. I understood that everyone contributed to Flamengo's success. Normally directors received bonuses, but not the professionals who work day to day at the club." He was speaking to Diario AS.

"This time everyone received something. No one got less than one month's salary. We had no legal or contractual obligation to do this, but I felt that such a collective effort, which delivered an absolutely sensational result, had to be shared by all."

On 27 January, Bap announced the move at a morning meeting, a decision that surprised staff.

The measure was driven by the team's 2025 season, when Flamengo won the Brasileirão, the Libertadores and the Campeonato Carioca, generating significant prize revenues.
