‘Barça can be managed well…’ Victor Font criticises Barcelona board over Inigo Martinez’s imminent departure | OneFootball

Victor Font has maintained a prominent connection with FC Barcelona in recent years. Best known for his 2021 presidential bid against Joan Laporta, he remains a vocal critic of the club’s current management.

Most recently, following the news of the imminent exit of Inigo Martinez, Font used the X platform to say his goodbyes to the Spanish defender, but also used the opportunity to criticise Barça’s current management for the club’s situation with registrations and finances.

Regarding Martinez, he said:

Before concluding his tweet, the former FC Barcelona presidential candidate made sure to state that the club can be managed properly, implying that it could be done with the right people in charge:

“Barça can be managed well!”

While this is definitely some vocal criticism, it is not without reason. No president or club management is perfect, and it is fair to call out the inabilities of the people in charge at the club when they make blunders or even promises that are not kept.

When it comes to Laporta’s presidency, there has been a lot of fair criticism in recent times. However, at least for now, he remains in charge of leading the club towards a better future, and it is also important to acknowledge that not every decision taken during his tenure is necessarily a bad one.
