According to Superdeporte, Chelsea intend to tie 24-year-old Brazilian striker João Pedro to Stamford Bridge until June 2032, leaving Barcelona without a leading alternative to Julián Álvarez.
In his first campaign at a Big Six club, he delivered 23 goals and six assists, establishing himself as a focal point.
His breakout drew enquiries from major European sides. Early in the window Barcelona assessed him as a realistic option for the forward line alongside the possibility of Julián Álvarez.
Talks stalled immediately due to Chelsea’s stance. The club valued him at 100 million euros and made clear they would not part with a key figure.
Unable to meet that valuation, Barcelona dropped the pursuit.
