Barcelona are on the hunt this weekend as Hansi Flick's Blaugrana look to usurp rival Real Madrid at the summit of La Liga, but are being made to fight against a stubborn Deportivo Alavés this afternoon.
An opening hit from Pablo Ibánez in the opening minute of action gave the visitors a shock lead at Spotify Camp Nou, but Spanish starlet Lamine Yamal made sure to level matters at one-all seven minutes later before Dani Olmo put them 2-1 up before the half-hour mark.
The man who turned provider for Olmo's composed finish? You guessed it, Raphinha.
Cemented as a talismanic figure in the Barça side since his arrival from Leeds United in 2022/23, it was the 28th assist for the Brazilian international, putting him one behind only La Liga icon Antoine Griezmann in that time frame.
While Yamal remains the face of the club and veteran striker Robert Lewandowski continues to find the back of the net in the twilight of his career, Raphinha's rise to prominence in Catalunya remains noteworthy indeed.
