Ligue 1 side were missing all of their first-choice front three
Paris Saint-Germain left it late to claim victory over Barcelona on matchday two of the Champions League league phase at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
The defending champions, who were without their talisman and former Barca forward Ousmane Dembele, snuck a 2-1 win in Catalonia, coming from behind after Ferran Torres had opened the scoring for the hosts.
Senny Mayulu, deputising for the injured Dembele, equalised for the Ligue 1 side, who were also missing their other two first-choice attackers, Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Goncalo Ramos played the role of super-sub as he stepped off the bench to net the winner in the 90th minute, with his golden chance laid to him on a platter by Achraf Hakimi as Barca’s high line was caught out.
Hansi Flick’s hosts welcomed back star winger Lamine Yamal, who shone in the early exchanges but faded as the encounter wore on, but the teenage sensation tested Lucas Chevalier on a number of occasions.
Paris went close themselves as Hakimi tested Szczesny from a free kick and substitute Kang-In Lee crashed the post with a dipping left-footed drive, but it was Ramos who would be the hero, planting a neat finish beyond the helpless Szczesny to claim all three points for Luis Enrique, giving the Spaniard a sweet return to his old haunt.
