Barcelona have four players away on loan currently in Oriol Romeu, Clement Lenglet, Vitor Roque, and Alex Valle.

However, as things stand, three of them – Romeu, Lenglet, and Roque – are unlikely to have a future back at the club once their current loan stint ends.

Alex Valle might have a chance

The same cannot be said of Alex Valle, though, as Mundo Deportivo reports that the 20-year-old left-back has been assured of a chance to earn a place in the first-team squad for next season.

Indeed, Barcelona are understood to be closely following the young La Masia talent’s progress throughout this season, first at Celtic and now at Como, whom he joined during the January transfer window.

Valle made 19 appearances for Celtic in the first half of the season, racking up five assists. Since moving to Como, he has played three times in Serie A and looked fairly solid as well.

Given the situation, the youngster might be given a chance to earn a place in Hansi Flick’s plans for next season, although he will have to compete with Gerard Martin, who is the current second-choice left-back at Barça.

Meanwhile, another talented La Masia prospect, Jofre Torrents, is also in contention for the backup left-back position and will likely be given a chance in pre-season.

So, it will not be easy for Valle, who has a contract with Barcelona until 2026 which contains a €6 million release clause.

What about the other loanees?

As for the other loanees, Barcelona are expected to facilitate a deal for Girona to re-sign Oriol Romeu permanently in the summer if the Catalan club intend to keep him beyond this season.

Lenglet, on the other hand, has impressed at Atletico Madrid, who intend to make his signing permanent soon.

Roque’s situation is tricky as he has lost prominence at Real Betis but they do not want to let him leave right now even though he is attracting serious interest from Palmeiras.
