Barcelona 3-0 Getafe: Ferran Torres brace and Olmo strike seal comfortable Blaugrana win | OneFootball

Barcelona maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a commanding 3-0 victory over Getafe at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

Ferran Torres struck twice in the first half, finishing off slick moves from Dani Olmo and Raphinha, before Olmo himself added a third after the interval. Getafe showed some improvement after the break, but their resistance was broken as Barça cruised to another three points.

As it happened

Barcelona started with intent and took the lead on 15 minutes. Olmo’s inventive backheel released Torres, who made no mistake with a composed finish past David Soria.

Torres doubled his tally shortly before the half-hour mark. Raphinha’s quick thinking created space and slipped a pass into the forward, who calmly slotted into the corner for 2-0. The visitors rarely threatened, with Robert Lewandowski and Pedri also going close before the interval.

Getafe made a triple substitution at half-time to stem the tide, and they looked brighter early in the second half. Javi Muñoz flashed a volley narrowly wide before Luis Milla tested the Barça defence. But any hopes of a comeback ended in 62 minutes. Marcus Rashford, introduced after the break, drove forward and squared for Olmo to sweep home from close range.

The final stages were played almost entirely in Getafe’s half, with Barcelona recycling possession and pushing for a fourth. Soria produced several stops to keep the scoreline down, but Barça had already done enough.
