Barcelona’s 2026 has not been as fiery as one would have expected, not in terms of results but the team’s mere comfort on the field and attacking potential.
The team have scored a total of 45 goals since their first game of the calendar year against Espanyol. Given that they have played 18 games, they average 2.5 goals per game and that number could have been much higher with better finishing.
Of the various players in Hansi Flick’s setup, however, only two players lead from the front in terms of goal contributions – Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal.
Yamal and Lopez have 15 and 14 goal contributions in 2026 respectively, combining both goals and assists. No Barcelona player has more than that number of direct contributions.
In 2026, Yamal has scored against Racing Club, Real Oviedo, FC Copenhagen, Elche, Albacete, Mallorca, Villarreal, Athletic Club and Newcastle United, totalling 11 goals. He has also assisted once each against Real Sociedad, FC Copenhagen, Levante and Atletico Madrid.

Fermin Lopez, meanwhile, has a total of ten assists in 2026, including against Espanyol, Athletic Club, Real Madrid, Racing Club, FC Copenhagen, Mallorca and Villarreal.
That, coupled with his goals against Levante, Slavia Prague and Athletic Club help him reach 14 goal contributions.
Both players are having stunning campaigns and are game changers on their own. While Yamal is a bona fide starter, however, Fermin continues to be rotated with Dani Olmo for the greater good.
As the team move deeper into the season, Hansi Flick will hope for more contributions from the rest of the team to reduce dependency on any single player.
Needless to say, however, he will hope both stars can retain their form and keep racking up numbers as they have.
