With the summer window slowly coming into focus, Barcelona are already making calculated moves, especially when it comes to reinforcing the left wing.

While Marcus Rashford remains a name on their radar, the situation is far from settled, and the club is clearly not putting all their eggs in one basket.

It is known that while Barcelona still have the option to make Rashford’s stay permanent, there is a growing internal debate about whether the €30 million price tag truly represents value for money.

As reported by SPORT, this uncertainty has prompted the sporting department to widen their search.

Rather than rushing into a high-cost deal, Barcelona are studying alternative profiles, players who could offer a similar impact but with a more sustainable financial structure.

Barcelona considering two options

One of the standout names under consideration is Andreas Schjelderup, currently developing at Benfica.

Within the club, there is a strong belief that Schjelderup fits the long-term project.

His technical ability and attacking intelligence have caught the attention of both the coaching staff and decision-makers.

Beyond his on-pitch qualities, there is also a strategic advantage that his agent, Rafaela Pimienta, maintains a close relationship with president Joan Laporta, something that could ease negotiations if Barcelona decide to advance.

At the same time, Barcelona are also keeping tabs on Victor Munoz, who has been making waves at Osasuna. However, this potential deal comes with complications.

Real Madrid still hold key rights over the player, making any direct negotiation difficult.

On top of that, his €40 million release clause is seen internally as steep, even if his rising reputation justifies the growing interest around him.

Simply put, Barcelona are not ruling out Rashford’s permanent stay, but they are also looking at cheaper market opportunities and those with a higher ceiling.
