With the 2026 summer transfer window approaching, FC Barcelona are already planning several reinforcements across the squad. The Catalan side is prioritising additions at centre back, centre forward, and the wings as Hansi Flick looks to further strengthen his squad for next season.
The wide attacking positions are one area the club is closely analysing. At the moment, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha are the undisputed starters on the flanks. However, the depth behind them is still not fully settled.
Marcus Rashford is currently providing solid performances while on loan and remains a strong candidate to stay permanently. Barcelona reportedly have the option to sign the English forward for around €30 million, with his salary terms already agreed since last summer.
Even so, the club still expects him to prove himself during the decisive stretch of the season before making a final decision.
Meanwhile, young winger Roony Bardghji has shown flashes of quality but is still developing and is not yet viewed as a fully established option for the first team.
In this context, one of the names that has appeared on Barcelona’s radar is Pedro Neto. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Portuguese winger has impressed the technical staff of the Catalan club with his explosiveness, dribbling ability, creativity, and finishing.
Neto joined Chelsea in 2024 for around €60 million and has since established himself as one of the most exciting wide attackers in European football. One of his biggest strengths is his versatility, as he is capable of playing on either flank and can even operate centrally as a false nine if required.
The 26-year-old also has experience at the international level with the Portugal national football team and currently faces strong competition for places at Chelsea from players such as Estevao Willian, Alejandro Garnacho, and Jamie Gittens.
Another factor that could potentially facilitate a move is Neto’s agent, Jorge Mendes, who maintains a strong relationship with Barcelona’s board and with sporting director Deco.
However, there is currently nothing concrete regarding a potential transfer. Barcelona are only monitoring the Portuguese attacker for now, and any move would depend on several factors, including the club’s financial fair play situation, Chelsea’s demands, and the Catalans’ other priorities in the market, including their pursuit of a new centre forward such as Julian Alvarez.
Despite the interest, the situation remains at an early stage, with Barcelona simply keeping a close watch on Neto as they assess their attacking options ahead of the summer.
