In the last 24 hours, Barcelona have stepped up efforts to make Karim Adeyemi their second signing of the 2026 summer transfer window. The Catalans have already sent their opening offer to Borussia Dortmund, and there is a belief that a deal for the 24-year-old can be completed in time for the start of pre-season next week.

Further details on Barcelona’s offer have now been revealed by Sky Germany’s Patrick Berger. A proposal valued at €20m was sent to Dortmund, although this will almost certainly be rejected. The Bundesliga side believe their player to be worth €40m, but the feeling is that they will not be able to get the Catalans to reach this amount, given that Adeyemi has less than a year remaining on his contract.

Rather, the compromise amount could be €33m, which is what Dortmund paid to sign Adeyemi from RB Salzburg four years ago. The German club would also want bonuses and a sell-on clause included, although it remains to be seen whether they would be able to have all of their demands met, given they are at a disadvantage during negotiations.

Adeyemi has already agreed personal terms with Barcelona

That’s because Adeyemi has already agreed personal terms with Barcelona, as per Fabrizio Romano. Furthermore, he’s already notified Dortmund that he will not sign a new contract, meaning they will be forced to cash in now, which gives the Catalans a clear advantage during upcoming talks between the two clubs.

If Barcelona can manage to get Adeyemi signed up, he and Gordon would be excellent reinforcements on the wings. Critically, they are two players that perfectly align with the high-intensity style that Hansi Flick wants his side to play, although a new striker must also be brought in – work is still being done on Julian Alvarez, whom the club hopes to have signed up once the 2026 World Cup is over.
