Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernandez’s time at Barcelona is clearly coming to an end, with all signs pointing towards an imminent move to Paris Saint-Germain.

The situation has been developing for several days now, and the decision appears to be firmly made by the player, who has chosen to take the next step in his career under the guidance of Luis Enrique in Paris.

While the destination itself is no longer a major surprise, the financial details behind the operation have remained unclear.

Earlier indications suggested that PSG were ready to activate Dro’s €6 million release clause in order to finalise the transfer quickly and without complications.

However, new information has now added an interesting twist to the story.

There is more to the story

According to a report from SPORT, the final fee involved in the deal could end up being higher than the player’s release clause.

Sources close to both Barcelona and the player’s representatives have confirmed that there is a clear intention from both clubs to reach an agreement.

That said, the structure and final amount of the transfer are still being discussed, and there is no total certainty yet that the operation will be completed under the initially expected terms.

From Barcelona’s perspective, the feeling internally is that the club should receive at least around €10 million.

Such a figure would help soften the blow of losing one of their most promising bets, especially at a time when financial balance remains a key priority.

Letting Dro leave for only the release clause would be seen as a missed opportunity, given his potential and the interest he has generated.

Dro has made up his mind

On the other hand, it is said that Dro is currently training alone at the Ciutat Esportiva, staying away from the main group.

Although Hansi Flick initially made it clear that the player would be barred from entering the facilities, the stance later softened.

After intervention from the team captains, the coach reconsidered his decision, allowing Dro to continue his daily training routine while awaiting official confirmation of his next destination.
