Last summer, Barcelona and Girona agreed four separate deals, with Oriol Romeu and Pau Victor (loan) heading to the Estadi Olimpic, and Eric Garcia and Pablo Torre (both loans) going to Montilivi. Each of these will be re-visited by the two Catalan clubs in the coming weeks.

As per MD, negotiations are already underway between Barcelona and Girona, with the main points being the latter’s interest in re-signing Romeu and Garcia, while they would also be willing to take Torre on a second loan, which could include an option to buy the young midfielder on a permanent basis.

Romeu will almost certainly be leaving Barcelona this summer, and Girona want him back for their first season in the Champions League, especially now that Aleix Garcia looks close to joining Bayer Leverkusen.

Garcia would be delighted to re-sign for Michel Sanchez’s side, although he will wait to understand how he is viewed by Hansi Flick at Barcelona before coming to any definitive conclusions.

Barcelona want to re-sign Victor, who has impressed for Barca Atletic, on a permanent basis, although they do not want to commit any money to the deal. As such, a swap deal is a possibility, involving any of the aforementioned three players. It remains to be seen how it all plays out.
