As per the insights shared by journalist Jose Felix Diaz in MARCA, it appears that both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid harbour keen interest in acquiring the services of Mason Greenwood.

However, they seem to be facing a stumbling block in the form of Manchester United’s hefty asking price of €60 million.

The report suggests that Manchester United are inclined to offload the talented forward to the club offering the highest bid.

Complicating matters further, there seems to be an additional contender in the race for Greenwood’s signature – Saudi Arabia, indicating a potential move to their championship.

This influx of interest from various parties poses a challenge for Barcelona, particularly given their ongoing financial struggles.

Interest in Greenwood is plenty

It is said that Greenwood wants to join a team with Champions League football next season. Yet, he is aware of Manchester United’s reluctance to grasp this concept as they try to reconstruct their team, driven primarily by financial motives.

Amidst all this, the resurgence of Saudi Arabia in the sport is noticeable, as they strive to underscore the establishment of a significant, formidable, and credible competition.

Greenwood currently finds himself courted by numerous suitors, but the emergence of the Saudi League has dramatically shifted the landscape.

For what it is worth, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have inquired about his availability, alongside Milan and Juventus.

What is Barcelona’s stance?

A short while back, Angel Torres, the president of Getafe, disclosed that he had been approached by Joan Laporta along with the sporting director Deco, inquiring about Greenwood.

This revelation indeed sparked curiosity, particularly because Barcelona are actively seeking a fresh addition to their attacking roster, ideally someone adept at working on the left flank.

In the days following Torres’ disclosure, reports surfaced indicating that Barcelona have opted against pursuing the young forward, citing concerns stemming from his controversial past and non-football-related issues.

While Barcelona undeniably crave a winger, Greenwood’s personal history has compelled them to shift clear of engaging with the talent.
