Barcelona attacking trio comfortably beats Real Madrid trifecta heading into international break | OneFootball

One month into the new season, the disparity in quality and class has been quite visible between Barcelona and Real Madrid so far.

The Catalans have been dominating in every game so far this season, riding on the success of their front duo of Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.

But if we add Fermin Lopez into the mix, the Barcelona trifecta appears to have comfortably beaten their Real Madrid counterpart.

Barca’s trident miles ahead

Indeed, the Barcelona trio of Raphinha, Lamine and Fermin have scored a combined 26 goals across La Liga and the Champions League this season.

Raphinha leads the way with an astonishing 14 goals, Lamine has chipped in with eight, while Fermin has added four from midfield. Together, the trident has also provided 11 assists.

In contrast, Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham have managed just 12 goals between them, made up of eight from Mbappe, three from Bellingham and only one from Vinicius, who has been the biggest disappointment at the Bernabeu.

That means Barcelona’s front three have outscored Real Madrid’s by a remarkable 14 goals.

Outperforming Europe’s elite

Barcelona’s trident has also been outperforming major European clubs as well.

Manchester City’s trio of Erling Haaland, Rayan Cherki and Antoine Semenyo have 12 goals combined, while Bayern Munich’s fearsome unit of Michael Olise, Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala have also managed 12.

PSG’s Ousmane Dembele, Ferran Torres and Vitinha, meanwhile, total just 10.

Raphinha’s transformation has been central to it all. Handed the false nine role following the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, the Brazilian has thrived as captain, already registering two hat-tricks and three braces.

He has even scored more goals on his own than 16 of LaLiga’s 20 teams and is already second in the European Golden Boot race.

Alongside him, Lamine continues to dazzle with eight goals and six assists, while Fermin remains a constant threat from deep.

There is a long way to go, but Barcelona’s attack has set a scoring pace that, for now, nobody in Europe can match.
