Barcelona boss Flick explains Raphinha absence & Roony Bardghji start vs Real Betis | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an explanation for some of the surprise alterations to his XI to face Real Betis.

Barca are of course primed to return to action in short order.

Brimming with confidence fresh off an impressive downing of Atlético Madrid in midweek, the Blaugrana have made the trip to Seville for a La Liga meeting with the aforementioned Betis.

Despite his side’s stellar result in midweek, Hansi Flick opted to shake up his XI, courtesy of a number of changes.

Speaking to the media ahead of kick-off at La Cartuja, the subject of his personnel decisions was therefore put to Barca’s headmaster.

And Flick went on to explain Raphinha dropping out for Marcus Rashford, as well as the rare start afforded to youngster Roony Bardghji:

“Raphinha benched? We’re taking care of Raphinha because we had a very intense match on Tuesday. Roony has shown in training that he deserves to be a starter.”
