Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has on Saturday night provided an update on the wellbeing of key defender Alejandro Balde.
This comes after the left-back set pulses racing across the club’s fanbase, during their meeting with Valencia.
Barcelona are of course fresh off kicking the club’s La Liga campaign for 2024/25 into gear.
After making the trip to Mestalla to face the aforementioned Valencia, the Blaugrana battled back from a goal down, to emerge triumphant owing to a brace on the part of Robert Lewandowski.
And yet, en route to their eventual victory, Barca were nevertheless left to sweat.
This came after Alejandro Balde limped out of proceedings at Mestalla, on the hour mark.
After first going to ground clutching his hamstring during the first-half, the 20-year-old was hauled off on the other side of the interval, in evident discomfort.
With tonight’s having marked Balde’s first competitive appearance since all the way back in January, fears surrounding his wellbeing, in turn, quickly spread.
And yet, if the early comments on the part of manager Hansi Flick are anything to go by, the Barcelona faithful need not fret.
This comes with the German tactician, during a post-match exchange with the media, having confirmed:
“We’ll do more tests when we get to Barcelona, but I think that Balde is fine.”
