Barcelona boss Flick wants to sign a player ‘like Inter Milan star’ this summer | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is hopeful of the club securing the signature of an offensive-minded full-back this coming summer.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the situation.

Barcelona are of course currently in the thick of final preparations for a Champions League semi-final 2nd-leg showdown with Italian champions Inter Milan later this evening.

The Blaugrana head into the matchup deadlocked with their opponents, at three goals apiece.

Playing a key role in this outcome in last week’s first leg was Denzel Dumfries, who notched a brace as well as an assist from his berth at right-wing-back.

And according to Sport, the significance of as much was not at all lost on Barcelona’s manager:

‘Flick wants a Dumfries-type full-back for Barca,’ it is claimed. ‘Flick, like Deco, was impressed by Dumfries’ game and the priority is to bring in a powerful full-back (this summer), who is another weapon in the offensive potential of the Blaugrana team.’

As things stand, the preferred candidate to fill this role at the Camp Nou is Bayer Leverkusen standout Jeremie Frimpong.
