In the last few days of this winter transfer window, FC Barcelona can generate a significant amount of money from some unexpected avenues.

Two of their B team players, Unai Hernandez and Pau Prim, are reportedly close to finalizing moves to the Middle East, with the former linked with Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia and the latter linked with Al-Sadd in Qatar. These two operations can bring around €5 million and €4 million respectively to the Blaugranes’ coffers.

But according to a report from SPORT, one of their former players is also likely to change clubs in this window as AS Roma are negotiating with Las Palmas for the signature of Mika Marmol. If this move materializes, Barcelona will get 50% of any fee paid for the defender.

For now, the Italians have offered up to €7 million for the La Masia graduate, but an agreement with the Canarians remains elusive as they are asking for the full €10 million of his release clause. But the negotiations are still on track, and the Blaugrana side is waiting to see how this operation develops.

In fact, Barcelona are optimistic about the chances of this operation’s success as they understand that Marmol is also in favor of a move and Las Palmas can end up agreeing if Roma puts in a final offer.

The Catalans also have a buyback right on the defender, but they are not planning on activating this clause. Thus, they are looking forward to a sale, as this would bring a significant amount of cash. If Roma end up paying €10 million for him, Barcelona would pocket €5 million, and their total income from these three sales will go up to €14 million.

All of this income will then help the Blaugranes in their pursuit of the Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford, for whom they will make their final moves only in the final days, or even hours, of the transfer window.
