Now, in a recent interview, Barcelona captain Ronald Araujo also spoke about the difficult situation and the passing of the beloved doctor. As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, Araujo admitted that it was indeed a difficult situation for everyone at the club:

“Yes, his passing was very difficult for all of us. He was someone we loved dearly and played an important role in the team. I would like to send all my support to his family from here.”

On the other hand, as quoted by FCB World, Araujo also spoke about this upcoming clash against SL Benfica and agreed to it being a massive clash that will be difficult for Barcelona as well:

“Absolutely, this is the Champions League, and we know that all matches are tough. But we will go into the game with full strength, aiming for victory and qualification, especially since we’re playing at home and in front of our fans.”

He went into further detail as well when asked about the various threats that Benfica possesses, but he remained confident in the team’s preparation for the clash as well:

“They are great and fast players, and indeed, he’s a remarkable player. But we have prepared well to deal with their attack, and I’m excited about this match and will approach it with great enthusiasm.”

With the game now set to kick off soon and the official lineup already here, Araujo is starting for Barcelona in this game. While he remains confident, it is true that Benfica has caused him issues before, but this is an opportunity for the Uruguayan defender to prove his own worth as well.
