Barcelona’s Ronald Araújo hasn’t been seen in action since the quarter-final of Copa America, where he played 33 minutes of a penalty shootout win against Brazil.
Since the competition, Araújo has been missing for Barcelona with a hamstring injury, but the 25-year-old vows to come back stronger than ever.
As per Diario Sport, the defender said ‘I’m very happy with how my recovery is going, I’ve had time to organise everything about my physical condition and the club is surprised by how I’m doing. I’m going to come back like a bull.’
He also spoke about the pride he feels to be vice-captain of the club saying ‘It’s a privilege and a source of pride to be a captain at Barça, I know what all the responsibility entails and I feel very prepared.’
The Uruguayan also spoke about reaching the milestone of five years at the club, describing it as a dream, and stating his hope that there will be many more years to come.
Barcelona fans will be keen to see their defender return to action. Although the club is doing well in the La Liga table, defensive reinforcements will never hurt.
