Barcelona have wrapped up a brilliant 2025 with a win over Villarreal, even though it was overshadowed by the injury of Andreas Christensen before the game.
The injury to Christensen has led to calls for defensive reinforcements heading into the January transfer window.
But while the possibility of a new signing in January remains open, Barcelona appear to have made one key decision as far as their transfer policy is concerned.
According to MARCA, Barcelona have definitively ruled out any further departures from now until the end of the season.
That effectively means Barça will not consider selling any new player in the upcoming winter transfer window, keeping in mind the congested fixture list.
In fact, the report seems to suggest Barcelona may rule out signing a new player in January as well.

Although the board was deliberating on signing a replacement for Christensen, they believe there are no good options available in the January transfer window and prefer to wait until next summer for defensive reinforcements. The club are also counting on Ronald Araujo.
On the exit front, Marc-Andre ter Stegen was widely predicted to leave Barcelona in January.
But it appears the German international prefers to stay at Barcelona until the end of the season, even though it could severely hamper his chances of starting for Germany in the FIFA 2026 World Cup.
Elsewhere, there was speculation surrounding the future of Robert Lewandowski and Ronald Araujo, but neither of the two players will leave in the winter transfer window.
Marc Casado and Marc Bernal, too, were seen as potential exit candidates – the latter on loan – but the club prefer to keep hold of their services, with Casado, in particular, finding a new lease of life in the right-back position.
