Barcelona are set to take on Las Palmas tomorrow, in what could prove to be a vital clash in the context of the title race.

Following an excellent run of form, coupled with Real Madrid’s misfortunes, Barcelona have finally reclaimed their top spot in the league table.

But any mishap against Las Palmas could see them lose that lead once again. However, despite the high stakes involved, it appears coach Hansi Flick is thinking of resting some of his key players tomorrow.

Flick considering resting Cubarsi and Gavi

According to MARCA, Flick is considering resting Pau Cubarsi and Gavi for the upcoming tie against Las Palmas.

That is because the German tactician has one eye on the important Atletico Madrid clash on Tuesday, which will serve as the first of the two-legged Copa Del Rey semifinals.

It is clear that Barcelona are determined to win their maiden title under Flick and Copa Del Rey could be the first title in their sights.

That is why Flick believes it is important to rest some of his key players. In this respect, he is looking to provide a breather to Gavi and Cubarsi – two key elements in his setup.

The two players could start on the bench against Las Palmas, which in turn, could pave the way for Ronald Araujo and Fermin Lopez to start.

Araujo could replace Cubarsi at the start of Barcelona’s four-man backline, partnering Inigo Martinez. As for Fermin, he could replace Gavi in the attacking midfield slot.

Fermin was serving his one-match suspension last time out, but he is now back in the squad.

The Spaniard has shown excellent form in recent weeks and this game could serve as an ideal platform for him to once again showcase his talent.
