The news about Barcelona star Gavi’s recent injury was undoubtedly worrying. Having already spent a long time on the sidelines following his ACL injury, this was quite the unfortunate development. Moreover, recent updates have hardly helped in terms of providing good news.
The latest report that had come out related to the injury claimed that Barça were now concerned about it. However, during his recent press conference, Hansi Flick provided a positive update as shared officially by the club.
Within that statement, the Barça coach also confirmed when the club expects Gavi to return:
“We hope that Gavi can return against Valencia, after the international break, but we have to see how he progresses. He’s feeling better than yesterday, and we’re optimistic.”

This is great news, and it is good to hear that the 21-year-old midfielder is feeling better as well. While he will most certainly miss the game against Rayo Vallecano, and possibly the entirety of the international break with Spain as well, Flick’s words suggest that he could be back in time for the next La Liga game against Valencia.
Moreover, with the UEFA Champions League league phase schedule having been revealed recently as well, Gavi will certainly want to be back in time for the opening game against Newcastle United. For now, however, it is important that both Barcelona and the player treat this injury or knock carefully.
