La Liga giants Barcelona have on Saturday confirmed a fresh personnel blow in the club’s first-team setup.

The name of stopper Christensen has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of the last 24 hours.

This comes after the Danish international, out of the blue, was widely rumoured to have picked up a fresh fitness problem.

Though the exact nature of the injury was not revealed, the consensus was that Christensen is likely to spend the next month or so on the sidelines.

So, what exactly is the former Chelsea man’s latest ailment?

Barcelona themselves have on Saturday provided an insight into as much.

As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of the Catalan powerhouse:

‘The first-team player Andreas Christensen has tendinopathy in his left Achilles. His return to training will depend on how his condition progresses.’
