The Uruguayan international wants to learn about his role under Flick heading into the new season and whether he will play regularly.

The 26-year-old was back-up to Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi last season.

His erratic performance in the Champions League semi-final second leg against Inter Milan also attracted criticism from fans.

Barca are actively working to sign Williams after agreeing personal terms with him. They are confident of triggering the Athletic Bilbao winger’s €62 million release clause.

However, the La Liga champions need to sell players to comply with La Liga’s financial regulations.

Araujo hasn’t lived up to the expectations at Barca, with his progress hindered by injuries and a lack of consistency.

Despite this, he is one of the sought-after players in the transfer market, drawing interest from Bayern Munich, Juventus and Premier League clubs.

Bayern are looking for a new centre-back due to Kim Min-jae’s uncertain future. They could revive their interest in Araujo after nearly signing a few years ago.
