After not having brought any new players in the last winter transfer window, FC Barcelona are quite likely to bring some reinforcements for Hansi Flick in the upcoming summer transfer window.
One of the areas that the Catalans are looking to strengthen before the start of the next season is that of the right-back, where Jules Koundé is a fixed starter, but whose replacement, Héctor Fort, has left a lot to be desired.
According to Fichajes, there are names that Barcelona will be looking to reinforce this position in the upcoming summer transfer window.
One of the players on the Blaugrana club’s list is that of the Manchester City defender Yan Couto, who is currently playing on loan at Borussia Dortmund. The Brazilian was already in the sights of the Catalan club last summer, but the move ultimately did not take place.
This season, he is not having a lot of prominence at Dortmund, which leaves a door for another move in the next summer open. However, the fact that he belongs to Manchester City can make negotiations for his signing somewhat complicated for the Blaugranes.
Another option on Barcelona’s list is another Brazilian full-back Vanderson, who is currently playing at the Ligue 1 side Monaco. He is one of the favorite defenders in the market for Deco, and the Portuguese official believes he has the offensive abilities to adapt to the Blaugrana style of play. However, Monaco are expected to demand a high fee for him.
Lastly, there is also the former Barcelona defender Oscar Mingueza, who would be a more affordable option for the Catalans. Although his good season with Celta Vigo has increased his valuation, the Blaugrana club still has 50% of his rights, so would have to pay only one-half of the fee that any other club would have to.
All of these three options are quite interesting, but they will most probably come only as substitutes for Jules Koundé, who will remain the fixed starter for Barcelona going forward.
