Barcelona silently hoped to rope in petty cash through sales and transactions involving the club’s former players on whom they retain a certain percentage of rights.
So far, however, it has been dull for the Catalans on that front as they have not stood to gain any passive income from the aforementioned stream. There is, however, hope of something materialising and Ferran Jutgla is one player who could prove key.
The young forward left Barcelona after the 2021-22 season and joined Club Brugge in July 2022. Now, however, he is considering an exit from the Belgian club.
As relayed by Mundo Deportivo in a recent report, the 26-year-old wants to leave Club Brugge this summer and is looking for a change in scenery.
Jutgla has a year left on his contract but is pushing to return to Spain anyway as he has publicly confessed.

There is interest in the player from Girona and a transfer this summer, thus, cannot be ruled out. After all, his club owners risk losing him on a free transfer next year if they do not accept his decision now.
For Barcelona, this comes as great news for they hold rights to 10% of any future transfer of the player and could thus see some much-needed cash flow into their coffers this summer.
Jutgla made 36 appearances for the Belgian club in the Pro League last season and racked up ten goals and three assists in the process. Further, he averaged 0.9 key passes per game and created seven big chances.
It thus remains to be seen if a return to Spain materialises this summer, for the player is currently at an ideal age to push for a change in scenery.
Barcelona will be keeping a close eye on the situation surrounding Jutgla, knowing that any income will be a welcome boost.
