Barcelona have all but finalised plans for the Joan Gamper Trophy. Barring any last-minute changes, the traditional pre-season fixture will be played against Como, managed by former Barça midfielder Cesc Fabregas, reports Mundo Deportivo.
The match is planned to take place on 10 August and is expected to be played at the Spotify Camp Nou, depending on the stadium’s readiness.
If not, the club would need to negotiate with the Barcelona City Council to host the match at Montjuic. The announcement is not yet official.
The idea of inviting Como to the Gamper Trophy arose during negotiations between Barcelona and the Italian club for the permanent transfer of Alex Valle.

The La Masia player was sold for his €6 million release clause, paid in two instalments.
Barcelona will first embark on a tour of Japan and South Korea, facing Vissel Kobe on 27 July, FC Seoul on 31 July, and Daegu FC on 4 August.
Upon their return, Hansi Flick wants several days of training before the team’s official presentation on 10 August.
Como, led by Fabregas, achieved a remarkable 10th-place finish in Serie A last season – an impressive accomplishment for a newly promoted side.
