According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona defender Jules Kounde has taken a simple but important step to avoid future problems with head coach Hansi Flick.
The French international has reportedly asked the club’s security staff, who accompany the team daily, to give him a 15-minute warning before tactical talks begin on matchdays.
This is because he wants to make sure he arrives on time and does not miss out on starting opportunities due to being late.
Although Kounde is one of the most important players in Barcelona’s defence, Flick is known for his strict discipline. The German coach has made it clear he will not hesitate to bench even key players if they do not follow his guidelines.
In fact, Kounde has already paid the price three times this season. On each of those occasions, he missed the chance to start after turning up late for matchday briefings.

He was brought on in the second half and returned to the starting line-up the following match, but the damage was done.
As a result, Kounde is now taking responsibility. After trying on his own to be more punctual and failing on a few occasions, the defender decided it would be better to get a helping hand.
He asked the team’s security staff to give him an early reminder so that he would never be late again. This solution, while small, is already proving useful.
With Barcelona heading into a crucial part of the season, Kounde’s decision could make a big difference. Flick values discipline as much as talent, and any repeated mistakes could cost players their place in the team.
The Frenchman clearly understands the stakes and is doing what is needed to keep his place and help the team.
