Barcelona defender has fully recovered and will be available vs Osasuna | OneFootball

FC Barcelona will return to action on Saturday as they host CA Osasuna at the Spotify Camp Nou in La Liga, hoping to extend their lead at the top of the table.

The Blaugrana have already gained a four-point advantage over Real Madrid and can stretch it to seven and put pressure on Xabi Alonso & co., who play Alaves away from home on Sunday.

Gerard Martin set to be available

Leading up to the match, Barcelona have been handed some positive news as defender Gerard Martin will be available to face Osasuna, reports journalist Carlos Monfort.

The 23-year-old defender was unable to train with the squad on Thursday as he was feeling indisposed.

However, as per the latest update, Martin has fully recovered from his indisposition and has arrived at the Ciutat Esportiva training facilities to participate in the final session before the match.

As such, the Spanish defender is expected to be fully fit and available for selection for Barcelona’s clash against Osasuna.

Martin has grown into a key player for Hansi Flick in recent weeks, excelling as a makeshift centre-back, pairing up with Pau Cubarsi at the heart of the Barcelona defence.

With him slotting in comfortably in the new role, Barcelona have been able to find a new option as a left-footed centre-back after having let Inigo Martinez leave in the summer.

With Martin being fully fit, it will be interesting to see whether he starts for the Catalans on Saturday or is rested by the manager.
