This past weekend, FC Barcelona sporting director Deco confirmed that the club plan on offloading one of their current centre-backs this summer.

With Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez being Hansi Flick’s preferred central defenders and the director confirming that Ronald Araujo will not leave, everything pointed at Andreas Christensen being the one to be sold.

However, according to the latest update from Que T’hi Jugues, Christensen has no plans of leaving Barcelona in the current summer transfer window.

The 29-year-old Danish international has a contract with the La Liga champions until the summer of 2026 and intends to see it out.

Christensen, who joined Barça as a free agent in 2022 from Chelsea, feels happy at the club and with the fans. His family, too, are delighted with life in the city and as such, an exit is not on the player’s mind at the moment.

In fact, the report further states that Christensen has already rejected offers from Saudi Arabia in order to continue with the Blaugrana.

Given his contract expires next year, this is the final chance for Barcelona to get a decent sum from Christensen’s sale.

Considering he was signed for free, all the fee that they receive from his departure can be chalked up as full profit while the Catalans would also be getting rid of relatively high salary.

However, as things stand, Christensen is simply not entertaining the thought of a departure. Whether the stance changes in the coming weeks remains to be seen.
