FC Barcelona will likely be needing one or two big sales in the summer in order to sign their preferred targets – Julian Alvarez and Alessandro Bastoni, along with a new left-winger and a full-back.

As such, the names of defenders like Ronald Araujo, Alejandro Balde, and Jules Kounde have been doing the rounds as possible candidates to be sold at the end of the season.

Araujo does not consider himself transferable

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Araujo does not see himself as transferable this summer and has no intentions of leaving Barcelona.

In fact, the Barça captain has set out three clear objectives as he looks ahead to the coming months. The first is to secure the La Liga title with Barcelona as soon as possible, ideally next week rather than waiting for the Clasico at the Camp Nou.

The second is to join up with the Uruguay national team and prepare fully for the 2026 World Cup. The third, looking further ahead, is to remain at Barcelona for a long time.

The central defender does not consider any other option and is focused on regaining his best form.

For Araujo, the current campaign has not been as productive as expected. Although he has made 35 appearances so far and set a personal record of four goals, much of his contribution has come from the bench. In January, he also took a break due to mental health reasons.

Despite this, he is convinced that next season will be different and that he can change his situation significantly.

Therefore, Araujo, under contract until 2031, does not consider leaving Barcelona and is not interested in listening to offers from elsewhere.

The Uruguayan is aware that competition for a starting place is strong, particularly with the club considering the signing of another centre-back, and that Hansi Flick has also used him as a right-back.

Even so, the captain feels more of a leader than ever and is prepared to stay and fight, while seeing the upcoming World Cup as something that will provide a significant boost to his personal trajectory.
