In a concerning development for FC Barcelona, Javi Miguel of AS reports that defender Ronald Araujo is ruled out of the weekend’s La Liga clash against Deportivo Alaves.
The Uruguayan defender stayed in the gym and did not train with the rest of the group out on the field today, while he was absent from Thursday’s session as well.
As a result, he is now ruled out for Saturday’s match against Alaves at the renovated Spotify Camp Nou.
Araujo started Barcelona’s last game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier this week, where he was sent off in the first half.

As reported already, the 26-year-old defender has been deeply affected mentally by his mistake that cost the team heavily at Stamford Bridge.
Along with that, the defender also seems to be dealing with a physical issue, which has now rendered him unavailable to face Alaves this Saturday. An official update from the club is awaited.
While Araujo has drawn a lot of criticism for his error against Chelsea, the locker room fully supports the second captain and are standing with him in this difficult moment.
Araujo joins Fermin Lopez on the sidelines, with the midfielder also being ruled out due to a muscle injury. The positive for Barcelona is that Pedri has trained with the group again today and will return to the squad to face Alaves.
