Alejandro Balde has long been regarded as one of Europe’s most promising full-backs. Over the past few seasons, the young Barcelona full-back has attracted attention from several top clubs, with a number of Premier League sides showing interest in securing his services.

Recently, the presence of Joao Cancelo in certain matches at left-back raised questions about Balde’s role in the squad, while some reports suggested that the Catalans might cash in on him if a strong offer arrives this summer.

This has alerted potential suitors, with clubs including Manchester United reportedly exploring a move for the 22-year-old.

Despite the ongoing interest, Balde’s future at FC Barcelona appears firmly settled. According to MARCA, the defender has already spoken with his agent and made it clear that he has no intention of leaving the Catalan club in the next transfer window.

The sentiment is shared by Barcelona, who are equally unwilling to let go of one of their most talented defenders.

Only an extraordinary offer combined with a transfer request from Balde could change this scenario, but the defender is comfortable in Barcelona and believes he can make significant contributions to the team in the future.

Currently, Balde is focused entirely on his recovery and return to action. He has missed several weeks due to physical issues, but is now close to full fitness and is expected to be available for Hansi Flick following the upcoming international break.

The full-back last renewed his contract at the end of 2023, signing a five-year deal. With two years still remaining and a market value estimated around €55 million, he could be a potential option to generate funds, but Barcelona’s sporting department has no plans to cash in at this time.
